Dr. Mark Strong was praying when he strongly felt the Lord urging him to give his church's entire Sunday offering to aid the efforts of Life Outreach International. Dr. Strong describes his first reaction as, "No way! We are not a church with millions in the bank." Giving away an entire Sunday's offering would be a significant sacrifice for their church.
However, God often asks for our first and best portion, teaching us to place our faith in His provision.
The congregation decided to make the commitment with a cheerful heart, and in sharing their gift with LIFE Outreach, Pastor Mark reported, "The offering turned out to be the biggest Sunday offering we have ever collected . . . Praise the Lord!"
Life Change Christian Center's spirit of service to others and sacrificial giving is a tremendous example of the Body of Christ uniting for change. Their gift will help provide portions for those who have nothing prepared, impacting the lives of children and families around the world through LIFE Outreach International. As a partner of LIFE Outreach, Pastor Mark understands that it's not the size of the check that matters the most. He pinpointed the true worth of the congregation's gift when he wrote, "Thank you for being faithful and being a bridge where God can take the resources of the Body of Christ to meet the needs of those who are dear to His heart.
