The Impact on Mission Feeding
Drought conditions in Sudan are creating bleak landscapes and longer lines at Mission Feeding outreaches. The lack of rainfall has devastated crops, and there is little to nothing left to harvest. With many Mission Feeding outreaches already established in southern Sudan, our ability to feed increasing numbers of children is becoming even more important. In times like these, the best news we could hear is that we have access to more food, and we can now report that a $2.5 million food grant has been made available to us. This is a wonderful answer to prayer as the food grant will help provide 15 million more meals!
| Broken Hearts find Healing in Ukraine | |
The LIFE Center outreach in Ukraine – called The Joshua House – is spearheaded by Jim and Sandy McCann. They began their ministry there after converting a large home in Lviv. Street children, desperate for love and care, were taken in, and over the years, lives have been changed dramatically. After running at full capacity for years, the McCanns began planning a second LIFE Center, this one in the Turka mountain region – an area where many street children live. Preparing a home for these children – at the point of need – will allow for care in the home, as well as many outreaches into neighboring villages where poverty and alcoholism have taken a toll on lives for generations. In the darkness of this despair, God's love still shines brightest. One of the most beautiful testimonies emerging from The Joshua House is that some of the children raised in the original home, now grown and married, will be responsible for ministry in the new LIFE Center. God is using this cycle of life in them to minister to a new generation of children in need. |
