Dear Pastor,
This is not the time of year that many of us are thinking about Christmas, but it is a great time to think about blessing children. Because of the tremendous response for our Christmas shoes project over the last three years, we are seeking to give children another Christmas blessing in 2011.
I want to present a special challenge to church pastors and leaders. Would you consider running a Christmas Shoe Campaign during the month of September? Many Churches for LIFE partners will be hosting a Shoe Sunday to complete their Christmas Shoe campaign. During the month of September, will you challenge your fellow believers to bring their best offering to enable LIFE to provide shoes to those in need?
With the help of our friends and partners we will present 200,000 children around the world with a Christmas gift that most have never owned or enjoyed. These durable, all-terrain, low-cost shoes have been developed for the children under LIFE’s care. It will cost just $3.60 to manufacture and deliver each pair of shoes to a child in need and you can provide 1000 pairs of shoes for $3,600.
This past year, I had the blessing of giving children shoes in Thailand and Cambodia and seeing their delight when blessed with such an amazing present. These children live in poverty stricken and undeveloped nations, and they often suffer cuts, bruises, infections and disease like hookworm in their feet. Some are crippled for life because of infections in their feet as children. The simple gift of shoes can make a big difference in their life.
With the support of your church, and other churches like yours, we will raise the funds necessary to immediately begin shipping so as many children as possible can receive “Christmas Shoes” in time for the holidays. We have DVDs and brochures available to help share this need with your church.
